Hi. My name is Tony Bridges. I live in Godfrey, Illinois, United States of America. I was researching our family history and found that Joseph (Col.) Bridger was born 1628, Dursley, England and he died in Virginia, United States of America in 1713. Although my last name is Bridges, somehow or for some reason, Joseph Bridger changed our name to Bridges for reasons unknown to us. Can you connect me somehow with the region of your country so I can understand why he was a Colonel and why he left this area during the early 1600's. Does anybody in town still have the last name Bridger or Bridges? How do I reach the town librarian to find out where he lived? Does anyone have a picture of the property or home where he may have lived or worked? His parents names were Joseph Bridger and Hester Pitt.
