Took a look at this site when featured on Countrywise. What an interesting piece of history and beautiful location. So good to see something being maintained and not left to fall into dis-repair. Must try and take a look next time we are in mainland UK.

Oh to get away from people and crowds. I long for Southern Africa. Can I find peace here. Will be visiting soon. Don't mind the 'Monbies' Cows.

Isn't the pub shut during the winter?

It always used to be but the landlord has changed. Try calling on 01493 700303.

My favourite place in Norfolk and I'm born and bred. Go on a winter's day and find solitude and a pint! I always go on the train and walk from Yarmouth to Reedham.

Went by boat at August Bank Holiday and moored here for a couple of nights, lovely spot but bit rough when the tide races. The pub's lovely, nice food, good beer, friendly staff.
Went by train in September one Saturday from Norwich and had the mixed grill again for lunch at the pub and just managed to waddle back to the station in time for the train back.

After about 8 years of trying to get myself to the Berney Arms Public House, I finally managed to do so on 14th Sept 2008...and it was well worth the wait.
Food was spot-on and the drink the same. Owners of the pub seemed to be most welcoming and friendly and because of all this I would quite happily return...
Roll on next year when I shall make that journey....
