Loved all the pictures. I went there on a school trip in 1977 - (underage drinking in a pub with no road access - surely not!) and am planning a return trip to the Broads with family when the Berney Arms will be a definite attraction.

Great website, unique place. I had the pleasure of visiting in 2007 with Crookham Travel when about 50 people crowded the station platform. Arriva had been notified in advance and rescheduled the train by 3 minutes to allow time for us to board! My pictures of the occasion are at #@*%!://www.crookhamtravel.co.uk/Galleries/MA_2007_Norwich/CROOKHAMTRAVELRAR123/index.html
We hope to return next year, arrriving by water. Best wishes to all, Mike.

My parents owned the pub at Berney Arms during my high school years (Approx. 1954 - 1960). I took the train to Great Yarmouth every day for school. Great memories of the place which was not very different then except more buildings!

Berney Arms featured in a program called 'Heart of the Country' shown on the Country Channel here in New Zealand last night. Naturally, with the web site having been mentioned, I just had to visit! Excellent program and excellent web site

Does the Pub open all year or is it just seasonal...planning to visit late sept/early oct....will it be open.
Andy Friday, 19 June 2009 19:59
It always used to be seasonal but I'm not sure of the dates. Try phoning the pub direct on 01493 700303 to check.

Watched on Countrywise earlier this evening. Have been to Great Yarmouth on the train many times and never noticed the station before. What a wonderful area. Next time will definitely go visit Berney Arms as well when I am in the area. Nice interesting website too.

Hi there. Thanks for the message, I didn't realise the programme was being televised until I saw the messages come in. There are two lines between Norwich and Gt. Yarmouth and most trains go via Acle rather than Berney Arms but the station is easy to miss anyway!

I'm drinking a bottle of it now - not in the Berney Arms Inn though!
