I am trying to reconcile the little information that I have about a few of my ancestors.
I know from multiple census data that James Higgins lived in Rodborough throughout 1851 - 1881 and was married to an Elizaeth who was born in Dursley c1795.
This data implies that James Higgins was born in Plymouth c1795, but the only countrywide applicable baptism record that I can find is from Dursley in 1796.
Clearly James doesn't have to have been born in the same place as he was baptised, but a little more supporting evidence would help.
This information comes from 'findmypast', which also suggests that the information came from th Gloucestershire Family History Society. The GFHS web site doesn't list any data for baptisms in Dursley for this period, so clarity about this data might help.
If anyone can help sopport the origins of James and Elizabeth Higgins from Dursley born c1795, I would be grateful to hear from them.
Intended for anyone researching their ancestors.
