I am looking for any genealogy related information regarding
the Hill families in the area.
I am a descendent of Ezra Hill, son of Esau Hill and grandson of James Hill.
Would like to hear from anyone who is researching this name.

Hi
You don't mention any particular century.
I have an Abraham Hill married to Sarah Robbins their son Abraham who married Hester Terret in 1727 and the daughter of Abraham and Hester, Sarah(1728) who married John Robertson from Hawkesbury in 1751.
The location for the Abraham jnr and Sarah's birth is Uley.

James Hill was born approx 1786
Esau Hill was born approx 1808
Ezra Hill was born approx 1840
All of these men lived in Cam with their families.
Ezra eventually crossed the Severn, married Elizabeth Jones
in Newnham and settled in Whitecroft (near Parkend, Lydney).
I have some of the bap. dates for Ezra and Esau's siblings, but have
very little on James and his wife Hester Wintle.
I will look through my notes for any of the names that mentioned below
and post what I find.

Hi
Not sure if this is any one related but I have just found out that my 7th great grandparent was Mary Hill born in Dursley in 1685 who married Thomas Grove and had 6 children.

Re: Hill Family in Dursley and Cam
I have not managed to get that far back in my own tree.
But, I do have lots of records that I have yet to sift through in that same time period as Mary's birth.
Chances are good we connect as the Hills I have been following did not move around far in the area in the late 1700's- early 1800's.
Do you want to keep in touch "off-line"?

Re: Hill Family in Dursley and Cam
I am seeking information about Eliza Hill, born abt 1823. In 1839 she left Bristol aboard the "Bussorah Merchant" bound for Australia. As a 16 year old, she was under the protection of Henry Chappel (25yrs) and his wife Frances (nee Smith)(22yrs), who were travelling with their 3 year old daughter, Sarah and two other 16 year olds, James and Vera Newth. It would appear that they all hailed from Dursley.
Any assistance locating information on Eliza and her fellow travellers would be greatly appreciated.

Hi there
I am looking for the Hill and Newth travelers as well. Did you have any luck tracing them?
