Netherton Nursing Home, Cam

Postby Marian Shattock » Fri Jul 19, 2013 12:56 pm

I was born in the Netherton Nursing Home, Cam, in 1935.
I vaguely remember being shown it some years later but apart from it being on the main road through Lower Cam, I have no idea where it was.
Can anybody help, please. Is there a photo available?
Thank you.

My husband was born in a nursing home in Cam in 1936. He does not know the name of the facility but being that Cam was pretty small especially in that era it is probably the one you are asking about. He tells me it was located across the road from the pre-fab homes. At one time (perhaps the late 50's) it was a garden centre, as we have not lived in the area for 46 years we have no idea what is there now. My cousin owned the garden centre at one time and we think the house he lived in on the property at that time was probably the nursing home.
Hope this helps.

Thanks for the reply. I found the name on my birth certificate.
