Stan & Jim

Post by maljo »

Does anyone have any memories of Jim Arnold who worked at Mawdsley's and one of his friends who I think was called Stan Allway. I used to stay with Jim & Betty Arnold who were my Uncle and Aunt when I was on courses in Bristol, and seem to remember trips to various pubs for cribbage matches with Jim and Stan.

Hi Yes I remember Jimmy and Stan. I worked in the machine Shop at Mawdsleys, during the 70's. Jim was on the Maintenance and maintained the machine tools as amongst many other tasks. I purchased a guitar from Jim, my Grandson is learning to play on it now.

Stan used to work on the small Herbert capstan lathe making the small detailed components. Jim used to live at Welling Close near my Father in Law Norman. Stan lived in the bungalows down by the Spar Shop Rosebery Road,

Good hard working honest workmates. Good memories

Thanks for this. Does anyone have any photos of Stan or Jim to share?
