I remember going on what was called the Dursley Donkey to Gloucester, carriages with no corridors, I can almost smell it now thinking about it.

I worked at Mawdsley's in the 60's in the planning office. They made 'parts' that went into electric motors. Their biggest customer as I recall was Lansing Bagnall who made forklift trucks. I remember Greensill's the jewellers, which is now a material/knitting shop called 'Inches', the son is Michael Greensill a well known jazz musician now living in the USA.

Fond memories, I went to the Secondary school from 1959 to 1963 roughly! I remember the swimming pool and holding on to white plastic blocks and kicking like mad with your legs, never did learn to swim though, it wasn't very big either if I remember correctly.
